And the story is a bit lacking, too - it's not really clear what's going on or why you're doing what you're doing, and the characters are a bit one-dimensional. But despite these flaws, I still had an amazing time playing Magic Knife, and I would definitely recommend it to fans of action-adventure games.

I think part of the reason I was able to overlook Magic Knife's flaws is that it just feels so passionate and genuine. You can tell that the developers are huge gamers themselves, and that they poured their hearts and souls into this project. The game is full of these little touches and details that show a deep love and respect for the medium, and it's just infectious. Playing Magic Knife, I felt like I was part of this special little community, this secret club of gamers who were all in on the joke. And even though it's not perfect, I think that sense of community and shared experience is something that's really valuable.

Overall, I'd say that Magic Knife is definitely worth checking out, especially if you're a fan of games like Hyper Light Drifter or Celeste. It's not going to be for everyone - it's a bit quirky, and it's definitely got its flaws. But if you're looking for something that's a bit off the beaten path, something that's going to challenge you and surprise you and maybe even make you feel like a kid again, then Magic Knife is definitely worth a look. Just be prepared for a few frustrating moments, and don't be afraid to experiment and try new things - and most importantly, just have fun.
